Unique and very rare variety of honey! The short oregano it grows and is collected from the mountains of Rhodope and Evros. Unlike classic oregano, its harvest takes place during the months of October and November.

About 75% of its species are found in the eastern Mediterranean area and only a few in the western, its name comes from the words "mountain" and "ganos" ganos – the brightness, the plant that brightens the mountain.

The only thing this hardy plant does not like is sandy beaches and swamps we will never, ever find it in these areas, but we will meet it in barren and arid places and while it loves the sun too much we will find it tolerating in temperatures as low as minus 25 degrees.

Our country has one of the best oregano qualities in the world. There are many ways to get its benefits, among which is the honey collected from the flowers of oregano, especially short oregano. It grows well in soils with a pH of 6-9 and can grow, when cultivated, even in very poor, dry and stony soils.

Short oregano, and by extension the honey obtained from it, is a good source of plant fiber. It contains volatile oils, sterols and flavonoids. They are rich in vitamin C, E, K, A, manganese, magnesium, calcium, zinc, potassium, niacin, phosphorus and iron as well as beta-carotene. It also contains lutein, zeaxanthin, cryptoxanthin, pinene, limonene, ocimene, caryophyllene and ursolic and rosmarinic acids.

TASTE: Amazingly unique taste, very tasty honey with a "chocolate feeling", pleasantly provokes the palate and ends with an ideal aftertaste of soft oregano.

AROMA: It has a particularly "seductive" aroma.

COLOUR: Intense deep dark red.

CRYSTALLIZATION: Oregano honey crystallizes within 3 to 5 months, depending on the ambient temperature.

HARVEST MONTH: October – November

PRODUCTION AREAS: Rhodope – Evros mountain range.
