Sage generally is a perennial, evergreen shrub, with woody stems, gray-green leaves, and blue to purple flowers. The leaves are oblong, and range in size up to 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) by 1, and 2.5 cm in width, gray-green, thick, rough on the upper side, and almost white underneath due to of his thick short soft hairs.
