Licorice is the root of Glycyrrhiza glabra from which a somewhat sweet flavor can be extracted. We find it in our country under the names licorice, regolitsa and aglycorice.
It has a bittersweet taste and, together with ginger, they are considered one of the 2 oldest types of candy. It is anti-inflammatory, expectorant, emollient, antitussive, suitable for pneumonia, runny nose, bronchitis, and asthma. It is effective in the treatment of gastric ulcers, helps regulate sugar, is diuretic and also suitable for stress.
