Description

Lemon myrtle is an endemic plant and thrives in the coastal forests of Queensland, Australia, from Brisbane to Mackay.
It is a medium-sized tree, up to 8 meters tall with leaves characterized by a fresh green color and strong lemon scent. Lemon myrtle has many important properties:
The leaves are high in vitamin C which helps the body absorb iron as well as tissue and muscle healing and growth.
It is anti-inflammatory and therefore is often used to help with mild pain and discomfort caused by inflammation without the use of painkillers and steroids.
The decoction of the dried leaves, in addition to tea, is used in cooking and confectionery for preparations in cookies, aromatic pasta, for seafood marinades and elsewhere. It can also be used as a substitute for lemon flavor in milk-based foods such as cheesecake, lemon-flavored ice cream, and sorbet, without the curdling problem associated with the acidity of lemons.
